A man caused chaos on Thursday night in Tongelresestraat in Eindhoven. The police had received alarming calls about someone who might want to harm others and themselves with a firearm. Officers surrounded the apartment where the man was said to be living and managed to arrest him.
After receiving the calls to the control room, the police did not take any chances. An adjuster was called in and two dog treats were confirmed. The officers saw the man.
When it seemed calmer, the flat was surrounded. The man then walked outside and into the street with his hands in the air, after which he was arrested.
Closed street
The police action brought a lot of attention on the street and not only from local residents. Guests of a restaurant located below the apartment where the man lived could not ignore it. They were surprised when they were suddenly blinded by large spots on police cars and the street was suddenly full of officers.
Tongelresestraat was temporarily closed during the police operation.
