A man suspected of murder in Schwandorf was bivouacing in Domažlice by the pond

According to information from Práva, it is 58-year-old Heinz Josef Rappl, who was searched for by German criminal investigators from Monday.

The wanted man bivouaced by a pond near the village of Kout in Šumava. Police officers came to the scene on the basis of an announcement from citizens who recognized him from the media. The suspected foreigner did not resist the arrest in any way. He is now at the Domažlice headquarters, where detectives are verifying his identity.

According to German media, Rappl is suspected of killing his ex-partner and her new boyfriend. Both bodies were found on Monday in a family house in Schwandorf. The police have not yet announced how the couple was murdered.

Witnesses say Rappl, nicknamed Mexico and convicted of fraud in the past, often threatened his ex-girlfriend.

German detectives asked the cooperation of a Czech colleague in the search for the suspect, as they had indications that he could move to Domažlice. He used a bicycle as a means of transport, which he also had with him when he was detained.
