A 46-year-old employee of the Razgrad Investigative Detention Center suffered brain death after a fight in front of a night club in the city of Popovo. The incident occurred on Saturday (December 17) versus Sunday, it was reported NOVA.
The man is the father of three children. His relatives claim that he was beaten by the institution’s security guards, who refused to let him in because of his indecent appearance.
Galen Minchev and Zdravko Zdravkov decided to visit a night club in the city of Popovo at about two in the morning. Galen, 46, is a director of the Razgrad Investigation Detention Center. Only he has been refused entry to the club, his friend said.
“It became a problem that my friend wore a tracksuit. It has become a big problem. They made me wear jeans, but not him in overalls. They kicked us out of the restaurant, Galen was thrown to the side. One of the guards hit me with a rubber baton. I said that Galen was a policeman to let him go and I shouted: “he IS a policeman, let him go”. The police arrived and found the guard above Galen,” recalls Zdravko Zdravkov, a friend of the wounded man.
The two men turned to the police to make statements and returned home. The warden’s wife met him, seeing the wounds on her face.
“He went to the bathroom and collapsed. His friend came, we picked him up and said that his arm hurts a lot,” says Hristina Dimitrova. After a few hours of sleep, Galen Minchev began to tell his wife about the incident with him during the night. “He started raining. His mouth was twisted, his left side couldn’t move and we called 911. They said he had an ischemic stroke,” adds Galen’s wife.
The man was admitted to the commercial hospital. The next day, he got worse and was transferred to intensive care, where he was exceptionally able to be visited by his wife.
“I saw him, I asked him how he was. He said his head and right arm hurt. He said it was swollen and apparently they broke his arm because they hit him with a club,” Hristina also said Dimitrova.
The nightclub manager was not at work the night of the crash, but he has his own version of what happened.
“These people came in drunk, they were noticed for indecent clothing – in a tracksuit, smeared all over. Like a wild peasant. The guards took them out, and the police arrived there,” said Veselin Vasilev.
