A man wanted by police since 2012 was detained weeks after a crime television program aired his case, according to a release published last Tuesday by the authorities of Austin (Texas, USA).
On April 28, 2012, Héctor Hugo Ramírez-López, 33, allegedly killed Randall Wells with a knife in the city of Austin. An arrest warrant was issued against him for murder, but the Police were unable to locate him and the suspect was believed to have managed to flee the United States. and it could be in Mexico, his native country.
On October 27, 2021, the case aired on the program ‘In Pursuit with John Walsh’, chronicling the crime stories told by witnesses and law enforcement officers in a joint effort to prosecute and arrest wanted criminals.
Less than a month later, on November 20, Ramírez-López surrendered to the Mexican authorities and was extradited to the United States. The man is currently in the Travis County Jail (Texas, USA).
