A 27-year-old man, “close to the victim”, was indicted Thursday evening in Rouen for “intentional homicide” after the death on Monday of a 25-year-old man, we learned from the prosecution.
The attacker, without a criminal record, admitted “having stabbed him several times first in the apartment and then in the hall (of the building where the body was found, editor’s note), explaining them by an altercation and evoking for its part an emotional motive “, developed in a press release the prosecutor Pascal Prache.
The autopsy revealed “several stab wounds, some of which directly caused death,” the statement said.
Murder on the back of jealousy
The indicted man was remanded in custody. “Investigations must continue within the framework of judicial information to clarify the context of the facts and their progress,” said the prosecutor.
The attacker was arrested on Tuesday noon. “He works in the same company as the victim. They had a friendly and professional relationship (…) This crime took place in a context of jealousy”, a police source said. “The victim was well inserted, she was enjoying life, she had boyfriends, girlfriends (…) She was not known to the police services”, it was previously specified from the same source. As for the indicted person, “it’s the same. She does not attract attention,” it was added.
The body of the 25-year-old young man was discovered Monday morning in the hall of a building in the center of Rouen by a resident of the building. This murder aroused emotion among those who knew the victim. Flowers were placed in the last days in front of the scene of the tragedy and a pot was opened to support the family.
