A man in his 60s has died after falling off a cliff in Bergen

At 7.53pm the West Police District reported it they were on siteafter a car went off the road in Fyllingsdalen in Bergen.

Police write in the press release that they sent a number of assets to the scene, where a car had driven off a curb.

– There was a person in the car driving downhill. The driver of the car was given life-saving first aid but was shortly pronounced dead at the scene, police wrote.

ACCIDENT: Fyllingsdalsveien in Bergen was closed after the accident on Wednesday evening.

Bergen 110 supervisor Jostein Steinsland Hauge told VG that at 7.30pm they received a report that a car had gone off a cliff.

– The car was on its side and the patient was trapped. Firefighters got the patient out of the car, Hauge said.

He said they received a message that the car had fallen ten to twelve meters and that there was only one car and one person involved.

– The firefighters secured the car and carried out the usual procedures in the event of a traffic accident. There is some damage to the car, Hauge said.

The carabinieri say they are at work on the spot Wednesday evening. The accident team of the Swedish road administration has been informed. Fylkesvei 540 Fyllingsdalsveien is closed, but should be open around midnight.
