“On Friday around 5 pm, the police received an announcement about a man who was bathing in a sandpit and suddenly disappeared below the surface. In addition to the firefighters, divers from the South Bohemian intervention unit also set out for the scene and immediately began searching for the man in the water. Around 9 pm, the event ended, the men were not found, “said Štěpánka Schwarzová, a spokeswoman for the South Bohemian police.

On Saturday morning, the divers returned to the site and found the man’s body in the sandbox around ten o’clock. The police are investigating whether the man was hardening in the sandpit or whether it was a bet.
