The events took place around 7.50 pm on this Monday, December 12, 2022, in a supermarket in northern France. As our colleagues from France Bleu explain, a man is gone in a Lidl store in the municipality of Jeumont in the north, equipped with a food chopper, and then went after several people who were quietly shopping. Four people were injured by the “chopper knife” with which the suspect entered the supermarket. The source cited by France Bleu specifies that after attack four customersthe man went to the end of the aisles of the store to attempt suicide by slicing the carotids with the blades of the helicopter.
The four victims, two men aged 30 and 40 and two women aged 22 and 25, he was not injured as badly. “Two are lightly injured and two more seriously” revealed the police source. And the mayor of Jeumont, Pascal Ori, adds that two of them were transported to Valenciennes to be hospitalized there while another person was treated in the Maubeuge hospital.
