Mixed French Championships this weekend.
Like the eponymous film by Claude Lelouch, the poster for the 20th French Mixed Doubles Championship is full of promise. Indeed, the stars of the discipline no longer shun this competition with its always a little special character and often peppered with surprises.
Two pairs from Gard are celebrating on the banks of the Garonne in Montauban. With its Gard champions Ambre Faissat and Mathias Platon, Gard plays the youth card, which does not exclude the ambition to go far in view of the qualities of this duo. In group 17, their opening against Riandet-Blandin (Côte d’Or) will set the tone in a very open series which includes Lespagnol-Faet (Finistère) and Theval-Petit (Eure-et-Loir).
The Manduelloise pair Nancy Cailotto-Mathis Budet will compensate for the package of vice-champions Magali Vierne (absent for medical reasons) and Nicolas Roure, whose immense disappointment we share. For their luxury replacements, Nancy Cailottto’s experience in this competition will be a great asset. Placed in pool 10, they are among the two favorites of this series along with Vauclusiens Milan-Rayne, the pairs Poitevin-Dupuy (Loire) and Vorillon-Theuverot (Saône-et-Loire) complete this group.
As already said, this France very popular with big names in women and men presents an armada of potential candidates for the tricolor jersey: let us quote among others the pairs Saunier-Rocher, Galiègue-Scholl, Beji- Mallet, Calchera-Molinas, Xisto-Feltin, Duchereau – Trembleau, Mannia -Schatz, Arnaud -Perget, Laroque- Durk, Frigara-Le Guen, Deloor-Labrue. Enough to ensure the show!
