A 33-year-old man from Weert was arrested by the police on Monday night as a suspect in several attacks in his hometown.
The man is suspected of attacks that took place early in the morning on Monday between 6:30 am and 7:30 am on the Suffolkweg and the Korenmolen in Weert.
The attacker fled on his bicycle towards the Eindhovenseweg.
Earlier in the day, police released a Burgernet message with a call for witnesses. That message also mentioned an assault and attempted rape. The condition of the victims, where they came from and their ages have not been released.
The police do not claim that more incidents took place. The investigation will continue in the coming days. “Police hope this arrest will quell any disturbance that may have arisen,” police said.
