A major StarCraft 2 update has been revealed to launch on Game Pass

Game StarCraft 2 new we received a major update preparing the game for its upcoming launch on PC Game Pass. along with StarCraft: Resurgencethe iconic RTS is preparing to attract a new wave of players and the update version 5.0.14 has made significant changes to the game balance aimed at improving the game.

The main goal of the patch was to weaken the defensive and camper gameplay for all races. As stated by the Balance Council, this change applies to high level early and late game:

We’re targeting unique units, buildings and abilities that promote camping to promote more active gameplay across all levels of the game.

The second big change has to do with the Protoss race. The developers noted that there is a huge difference in the level of play between new and experienced Protoss players. The update aims to improve the playability of Protoss while playing “strong and smart,” while also making it easier for Zerg and Terran players to play against. The ability to recharge the Shield battery was removed, as it was considered one of the most annoying to enemies. Instead, “Energy Recharge” was introduced, which restores 100 units of energy to a related unit for 50 energy.

The changes also affected other races. The Zerg are now better equipped to fight air units from the ground, and the Terran mech units have become more effective in combat and when harassing opponents.

In addition to balance changes, the patch made general improvements, including visual changes to better identify team colors and several bug fixes.
