Tens of thousands of people were left without electricity for hours due to a power outage in and around Haarlem, Spaarndam.
According to network operator Liander, there is a “major power outage”, with between 30,000 and 40,000 people in 41 streets without electricity. Liander expected the malfunction to be fixed at 1:15am, but the expected end time is now unknown.

The mechanics are present to investigate. It seems that the cause of the malfunction is a fire in a high-voltage substation on Emrikweg. This has not yet been confirmed. Emergency services are on hand to put out the blaze, according to the Kennemerland Safety Region Chirping.
