In Montreal, Canada, a large police operation is still underway around the headquarters of Ubisoft (a video game developer and publisher), on St. Boulevard, in the Mile End neighborhood, which began around 3 (local time, 21 Italian time).
However, the police said that for now they have not detected any concrete threats.
There are many ambulances and teams of armed agents in the area. Some images taken in the area and shared on social networks in the last two hours showed dozens of people on the roof of the building, with the access door to the roof blocked from the outside with large objects.
The police intervened following a call to the emergency number that reported an armed robbery: the area was isolated and the citizens of Montreal were asked not to approach.
There are no reports of deaths or injuries, and police have not confirmed the versions circulated on various news sites that speculated that hostages were taken.
A Ubisoft employee he told the Montreal Gazette who at about 3.20 am barricaded himself in a room with his colleagues, while the police searched the building. Shortly before 4am (local time, 10pm Italian time), police said no concrete threats had been identified and evacuation procedures for people inside the building began.
No threat has been identified for now. We are currently evacuating the building. #SPVM https://t.co/7g7eHU2B1T

Dozens of people were then escorted outside; the operations are not yet completed.

Most of Ubisoft’s workers in Montreal are working remotely, so there weren’t many people on site. Normally the people who work there are almost 4000.
