A 32-year-old man was seriously injured with a machete this Friday, March 24 around 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Avenue Potié and Avenue du 8-Mai-1945 in Saint-Martin-d’ Heres.

According to the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP), the victim was with other people in front of a bus shelter when a man armed with a gun arrived and fired a shot without fortunately hitting anyone.
Another man then pulled out a machete with which he struck the 32-year-old man twice, one on the head and the other on the wrist, which he partially severed.
All the protagonists would then have fled, the injured finding refuge at the nearby rescue center where the firefighters immediately took charge of him to take him to the CHU Grenoble Alpes but, on the way, his condition worsened at point that they had to stop the ambulance in the parking lot of the Ikea store and call an emergency Samu team to join them and take over.
Medicalized, the victim was finally able to be admitted to the shock treatment department of the hospital with a vital prognosis. His condition eventually improved and, although his injuries were serious, he was deemed out of danger around 4:30 p.m.
During this time, the police went to the scene of the attack to make the first findings, try to collect testimonies and identify suspects.
