An opinion poll for the Israeli newspaper “Maariv” showed that the camp of the minister in the Israeli emergency government, Benny Gantz, would strengthen its political power if the elections were held today, and would obtain 43 seats in the Knesset.
The newspaper pointed out in the poll, which was conducted by the “Lazar Researches” company led by Menachem Lazar and in cooperation with Panel4All, that “the ruling Likud Party loses about half of its electoral power and would gain 18 seats if the elections were held today,” explaining that “the Religious Zionism Party led by the Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrits Smotrich would fail to cross the electoral threshold if the elections were held today.”
She revealed that “the ruling coalition parties in Israel will lose their electoral majority and will obtain 41 seats if elections are held,” noting that “the Israeli opposition parties will achieve a parliamentary majority and will obtain 79 seats if early elections are held.”
This poll comes in light of a temporary truce for military actions in the Gaza Strip, which includes a limited prisoner exchange deal, 49 days after the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip amid accusations of the failure of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In response to a question: If new Knesset elections were held today, who would you vote for?
The answers were: State camp 43 seats (42 in the previous poll), Likud 18 (17), Yesh Atid 13 (14), Shas 9 (8), Yisrael Beytenu 8 (8), Torah Judaism 7 (7), Otzma Yehudit 7 (6), Meretz 5 (4), Front and Ta’al Party 5 (5), Unified List 5 (5).
Religious Zionism (2.5 percent), Labor (2.2 percent), and Balad Party (1.3 percent) who did not exceed the electoral threshold.
According to the poll, 52 percent believe that Gantz is the most suitable to assume the presidency of the government in Israel, compared to 27 percent who believe that Netanyahu is the most suitable.
