A spectacular fire ravaged a Lubrizol factory, in Rockton, Illinois (United States), this Monday around 7 a.m. local (2 p.m. in France).
A plume of black smoke rose above the city. Several explosions rang out at the chemical site after the fire broke out. The plant is owned by Chemtool, owned by Lubrizol therefore, one of the largest lubricant manufacturers in the United States.
No employee was a victim of the disaster.
“Our current concern is the safety of all our employees and the surrounding community. As a precaution, authorities have evacuated residents within a one mile radius,” Lubrizol explained. on his website.
