A loss for Brno culture. An actress from the Goose on a String Theater has died

A black curtain covered the Brno theater boards on Monday. The actress Ivana Hloužková, a regular member of the Goose on a String troupe, died suddenly. Her colleagues reported about it on social networks. She was 62 years old.

“This morning, one of the closest, our irreplaceable colleague and friend, Ivana Hloužková, left us,” the Goose on a String theater announced on Facebook.

“Time seems to have stopped. How to catch your breath, find words? Our love and thoughts full of gratitude for the time together are flying for you in these minutes, Ivanka. May they overtake you in peace. Deepest condolences to all your family and to all who you were – and despite everything you remain – close,” added the saddened colleagues.

Hloužková was born on June 6, 1960 in Valtice, Moravia, into an amateur theater family. She already attended an acting club in primary school, then graduated from the Brno Conservatory.

In the early 1980s, she and her sister, twin Hana, started working in the artistic association of the Brno House of Art. This later gave rise to the theater troupe Husa na rovázku, in which Hloužková remained until the last moments and played 150 roles there.

She was a guest at the National Theater Brno, the Bolka Polívky Theater and many others, you could also see her in several films, such as The Last Speech or Boredom in Brno. She was the recipient of two Alfréd Radok Awards, the Theater Critic Award and the City of Brno Award.
