Westminster Abbey is packed with 2,000 guests who can closely follow the farewell to Queen Elizabeth.

Provost David Hoyle opened the ceremony by expressing gratitude for Queen Elizabeth’s long service.
– We are here to commemorate his life in permanent service, he said.
– We fondly remember your love for your family and commitment to the causes you care about, she said.
– Now, in silence, let us remember in our hearts and minds the many reasons for gratitude. We pray for all members of his family and leave Queen Elizabeth in the hands of God, the Almighty, the archbishop said before leading the congregation in prayer.
The first hymn performed was “The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Is Ended”, also sung at Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 1897 and at the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997.
Commonwealth Secretary General Hon. Patricia Scotland KC then read the scriptures before the church choir performed a specially created hymn composed by Judith Weir.
Prime Minister Liz Truss then stepped forward to read the Bible. The queen succeeded appoints Truss a few days before his death.
The choir then sang a hymn performed at the wedding of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip 74 years ago.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, highlighted the Queen’s Christian faith. He also spoke of the Queen’s promise to her that she made of her on her 21st birthday, pledging to commit to serving Britain and the Commonwealth.
– Rarely has a promise been kept so well, he said.
– It is not only the family that is in mourning today, but everyone, said the archbishop.
– He was happy, present for many and touched many lives. Let us pray today especially for her grieving family, like any family at a funeral.
Welby recalled when the queen declared during the close of the pandemic that “We will meet again”. A message full of hope, she thought.
– Service in life – hope in death, Welby said.
– We will meet again.
The choir then performed the hymn “Songs of Farewell”.
TV cameras zoomed in on a clearly grasped King Charles.
Several church leaders offered prayers, including Reverend Mark Birch and Bishop Sarah Mullally.
The first guests arrived at nine.
Queen Camilla and Princess Kate arrived just before the ceremony began. King Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne, as well as Prince William’s two eldest sons, followed the coffin in procession from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey.
Among the heads of state present were US President Joe Biden, his wife Jill, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, Israeli President Isaac Herz and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and his wife Michelle. There is British Prime Minister Liz Truss and also his predecessor Boris Johnson.
The Norwegian royal couple arrived around 12:00
Wilderness enthusiast Bear Grylls, Princess Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan arrived earlier in the day.
