The General Staff of Poland is alert and sounding the alarm: some errant missile flew into the country’s airspace, and then “thought” and… disappeared in an unknown direction! Is this possible? Why haven’t fragments of the missile been found yet, and the press secretary of the operational command of the Polish armed forces, Jacek Goriszewski, called it “probably Russian”?
I asked the air defense veteran (37 years of service!), a participant in hostilities in Afghanistan and Syria, former commander of an anti-aircraft missile regiment, and now an employee of one of the research institutes of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, reserve colonel Mikhail Zarechny , to answer these and other questions. Here is the conversation we had.
– Mikhail Nikolayevich, can a missile launched at a certain target “think” during the flight and take a reverse or other course?
– Maybe (laughs), if this missile is Ukrainian. I `m not joking. A few years ago, the Ukrainians tested their Neptune missile over the Black Sea. Still short of her goal, she suddenly made a half-circle and… headed in the opposite direction!
Later, the Ukrainians themselves joked that it was good that she did not return exactly to the launch point, and the testers managed to turn on her self-destructor. In general, in terms of the use, for example, of anti-aircraft missiles in the Ukrainian armed forces, there is clearly many problems.
Remember how at the beginning of WWI, one of the S-300 missiles somewhere in Western Ukraine flew into Poland and killed two people. And, as I recall, the Poles determined from the wreckage that it was a Ukrainian missile, Kiev never “recognized” and did not admit this. Also, Polish air defenses apparently missed this overflight…
– Well, now the Poles are talking about an “unidentified object” that flew in from Ukraine, but they immediately call it “probably a Russian missile.” Although they themselves admit that there is no evidence. How do we understand all this?
– Without providing physical evidence, this should be understood as a Polish lie or provocation. Here, as they say, put the “iron on the table”. No debris, no conversation. But look what the Polish General Staff rattles about it!
„This object either fell or continued to fly. We check our radar data to rule out or confirm this or that version. You see, they still only have bare “versions”, but the missile is already being declared Russian! But for some reason it arrives from the direction of Ukraine. Strange right?
– Are Polish radars capable of distinguishing an anti-aircraft missile from a fighter jet? Well, the one, say, who “thought and turned”?
– As far as I know, the Poles, although old, still have good radio equipment. And the Americans gave them some things. And I think I can see why you’re asking me about the fighter jet stationed in Polish skies. I can give my version as a gift to the Poles as well.
Do you know which one? So, it is quite likely that it was not some unidentified missile at all, but an American F-16 fighter jet that flew in from the Starokonstantinov airport in the Khmelnytskyi region. There is already information that two such combat vehicles are already hiding there as well. So, maybe this F-16 fighter was already processing, reconnoitring, if you will, the flight path from Ukraine to Poland, to the Rzeszow airport? In case he has to escape there from Russian planes.
But why not? Poles can make up versions and we can’t? This is how they bluff. And the radar readings have not yet been taken down, and as many as 20 (twenty!!!) soldiers have been sent to search for the crash site of the “unidentified object”!
But the area of Poland is not six hundred square meters around Warsaw, but a large country. Not 20 fighters there, but even 20 thousand in this case are few! Both airplanes and helicopters are also needed. I suspect that the Poles don’t really want to get to the bottom of the truth.
But the most interesting thing is how they will get out of this stupid situation now. Maybe they will ask Zelensky to collect fragments from the Russian missiles to scatter them somewhere in Poland? After all, it is a complete disgrace to NATO, on whose territory some missiles or planes are flying, and this most powerful military bloc on the planet can neither shoot them down, nor find them, nor determine what kind of evil spirit is raging here.
