A racist accident punctuated the FA Cup meeting between Swindon Town and Manchester City (1-4) last Friday.
Swindon chairman Clem Morfuni has indeed reported that former Chelsea and Arsenal legend Ashley Cole, who was then working as a consultant for broadcaster ITV, was the victim of racist abuse.
In the official statement, Clem Morfuni said, according to comments reported by The team : “During our FA Cup third round match against Manchester City at County Ground, we unfortunately received reports of racist slurs against Ashley Cole, who was part of the ITV broadcast team. We are absolutely saddened and deeply disgusted by this, and we cannot stress enough that racist slurs of any kind will not be tolerated by the Swindon Town Football Club. We are currently working with Wiltshire Police to bring together evidence, but those responsible will be punished accordingly. “
