The National Commission of Judicial Disciplinary sanctioned with 25 months the lawyer Samuel Arturo Sánchez Cañón, responsible for offering money to try to change the testimony in a judicial process that was carried out against alias ‘Guacamayo’.

According to the investigations, the lawyer, acting as attorney for Mr. Wilson Ocampo Gaviria, alias ‘Guacamayo’, in a process of alleged theft at the residence of former senator Omar Yepes Álzate, made financial and security offers to Mr. Julio Cesar Pulgarín Flórez, to to change his initial statement, a retraction that occurred in the interview held on April 13, 2018.

This disciplinary action arose after the referral of copies by the 85th Specialized Prosecutor against Criminal Organizations of Pereira against the lawyer Samuel Arturo Sánchez Cañón, for the irregularities presented in favor of the interests of Mr. Wilson Ocampo Gaviria, alias ‘Guacamayo’ .

“Specifically, he pointed out that, from April 12 of the same year, the lawyer Sánchez Cañón intervened in the preparation and elaboration of the fraudulent interview given by Mr. Julio César Pulgarín, in order to have him retract the statements made. against his stepdaughter”, the decision expresses.

According to the decision expressed by the Commission, it is proven that the professional Sánchez Cañón had a direct participation, through guidelines and the preparation of the draft, for a fraudulent version of what was said by Mr. Pulgarín Flórez to proceed and that it did not correspond to the reality.

Due to the foregoing, the Commission resolved to suspend lawyer Samuel Arturo Sánchez Cañón for two years and a fine of ten current legal monthly minimum wages.
