Since April 24, the government, to stop the spread of the Brazilian variant of covid-19, has strengthened health measures for travelers arriving from French Guiana (but also from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India and South Africa).
They are the subject of a prefectural decree imposing on them a ten-day sanitary quarantine measure under the provisions of Article L. 3131-17 of the Public Health Code. A measure described as “breach of equality of treatment between citizens” by the socialist senator Georges Patient in a letter sent on April 23, 2021 to the Prime Minister.
