A lawyer faces nine months in prison for forging a document in a trial in Astorga

A lawyer sits on the bench this Thursday in the provincial court of León, accused of forging a document to win a trial in Astorga. The facts occurred in 2015, when an action was brought by the Court of First Instance of Astorga to deny the servitude.

The defendant presented a counter-appeal in which it was stated that the easement “should be understood as acquired by prescription over the course of 20 years”, justifying it with the contribution of the control document of the individual gas receiving installation (IRI). But he altered the completion date, replacing the correct date 03/26/03 with 03/26/93 trying to make believe that the aforementioned 20 years of possession had passed due to the acquisition by prescription of the servitude, without being so. Realizing this, the document was presented “because it could be the facts that constitute a criminal offense”

They are asking for nine months’ imprisonment for the defendant, disqualification from office during that period and a fine of 2,700 euros.
