The Cayens group will present original compositions from their new album to the public for the first time. While we’re at it.
“It’s a new step,” assures Alexandre Boudreau, the band’s singer and guitarist. “It’s fun to play your own material. If you see that people like it and sing the lyrics, it’s very rewarding.”
The show will take place on September 20 starting at 8 p.m., at the Salle de diffusion de la Shed-à-Morue in Havre-Saint-Pierre.
Alexandre Boudreau says he is excited about the upcoming performance.
“It’s coming fast! We’re still fine-tuning it all, but it’s going to be a party like we’re used to doing,” says the singer. “There’s going to be a lot of surprises and special guests.”
The album While we’re at itwhich was officially released on August 17, marks a first for the group. It includes original compositions, in addition to collaborations with local artists.
Among the many collaborators on the project, Rob Langlois, a member of the group Les Fils du Diable, co-wrote the album’s title song. A text that highlights a spirit of camaraderie and festivities.
Upcoming projects
Although Capsayé is focused on the upcoming show, the group’s ambitions continue to grow.
“Throughout the year, we try hard to do shows elsewhere than in Havre-Saint-Pierre, such as in Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau, Quebec or Montreal,” says Alexandre Boudreau.
“I would like to continue with another album in the future or an EP,” the singer continues. “There will definitely be other songs that will come, because we never stop.”
