This noon, on an Asturian beach, a log came to shore that came with a surprising surprise: it was full of giant barnacles. An enormous size since the claw of the crustacean is the size of a mussel. A find of extreme rarity due to its large size and the trunk where they were attached.
According to some bathers, the trunk has been dragged by the sea to the shore, but they do not know where it comes from. “Surely it was trapped in some inaccessible rocky area, it came loose and was swept away by the current,” they explain. This log full of barnacles has reached the beach of Xagó, in the municipality of Gozón, near the city of Avilés.
Catching this crustacean stealthily on the rocks is forbidden, although minutes after its arrival there was already a curious person who was trying to take one.
