A large – scale exhibition of contemporary art can be seen in Padure manor

The historical stratification of Padure manor and contemporary art – as two interlocutors, in which the viewer is like-minded and equal. It could be said about the large-scale exhibition of contemporary art organized by the gallery “Alma” opened in Padure manor. The exposition includes both new installations and objects created especially for this event, as well as works selected from the exhibitions held in the gallery.

Already approaching Padure manor, the newcomer is taken over by the work of artists Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo “You made me glass”. Round mirrors not only outside the manor, but also inside remind us of the fragile boundary between reality and thought, the world of imagination, between existence and loss. This work is designed with the Padure manor in mind, so that it is like a conversation with this space, and Krista Dzudzilo calls it a visual poem.

Almost 20 artists are participating in the exhibition of contemporary art created by the gallery “Alma”. The first acquaintance with the organizers of the manor exhibition was during an artists’ residence. They have been addressed by the fact that the manor house built in the 19th century still has a historical layer that has developed over time, which forms a great dialogue with works of art.

“Just as the concept of a museum, its institutional significance and function in current cultural processes are being critically reviewed today, the question can also be asked – how should manors function today? Will they serve as places of entertainment and recreation for well-off families, or will they be private property where modern landlords will exhibit their treasures? Probably, now the manor can also function as an open space for artistic creativity, as proved here, “writes art critic, author of the exhibition texts Thomas Parups.

An extensive exhibition of contemporary art can be seen at Padure Manor until November 30.
