A large retail chain ran out of the Czech Republic. He charges them about 800 CZK more for buying food

Some retail chains literally make a good day out of their customers. Their prices are incomparably higher compared to stores not only in Poland, but also in Germany. In the case of ordinary purchases, there are differences that no longer amount to just a few hundred crowns, but even thousands. And to make matters worse, domestic stores are still not playing nice with customers.

The prices are incomparable

The Tesco chain can serve as a shining example. Lately, he has been running into discount events in style, but not just any. Gone are the standard discounts that everyone who buys a discounted product in a given week is entitled to. The claim to the discount is no longer automatic, but you have to take an important step towards it, otherwise you buy at full price, which is a huge difference.

Those who shop in Tesco today without a club card have to accept the fact that they will buy at least a thirty percent discount on their entire purchase. We decided to make a test purchase in this discount week and we got some really interesting numbers. While without the ClubCard we would pay CZK 3,253, within the club program the price drops to CZK 2,436.

The reason is clear. Just look at how much you can improve on selected products if you present your club card at the checkout. For example, one and a half liters of Coca-Cola normally costs CZK 41.90, but in the club the price drops to CZK 29.90.

People pay unnecessarily more

The same applies to the popular bottles Velkopopovický kozel 11 and Gambrinus Patron 12. These normally cost CZK 19.90 each, but with ClubCard you can get them for CZK 13.90. If you buy a bass, you save a whopping 120 CZK on this item alone.

Anyone who likes to eat Lay’s potato chips in the evening will pay 59.90 CZK for them as standard, but only 36.90 CZK in the club. A really interesting offer is with mayonnaise and tartare from Hellman’s. There, when you buy two or more items with a club card, you get a straight fifty percent discount.

And we could continue like this. It is therefore surprising that at the cash register when paying, we see so many people who, when asked by the saleswoman if they have a ClubCard, answer in the negative and immediately pay full fire for their purchase. People who have full shopping carts and whose purchases cost thousands of crowns are no exception.

So Tesco makes a lot of money from it. Some people simply do not want to participate in club programs, but in this case they pay a really crushing price. Others sign up and apparently have to redeem the discount with valuable personal data about shopping behavior that the chain can then work with.
