About ten percent of the unvaccinated are waiting for an invitation for corona vaccination from the central government. In addition, another seven percent of this group thinks that the injection is at the expense of their deductible. This is evident from new results of the Lifelines Corona study.
The results follow from a large study, in which more than 23,000 participants were asked about the corona vaccination in mid-October. According to the researchers, about ten percent of the unvaccinated say they have not yet been vaccinated, because they are still waiting for an invitation to the corona vaccination. This while they indicate that they want a vaccination. “It has been said for a long time: ‘wait your turn and you will automatically receive an invitation’, but that is no longer necessary since June this year,” says researcher Lude Franke. “Apparently this is not clear to everyone yet.”
In addition, another seven percent of the unvaccinated indicate that the corona vaccination may affect the mandatory deductible, while it does not. The vaccine is always free. “In both these groups there seem to be opportunities for the government to be able to vaccinate a large group of people after all,” says Franke.
Although this relatively small group of unvaccinated people actually want the vaccine, the vast majority say they do not want to be vaccinated. For example, 44 percent of the unvaccinated think that the corona vaccine is harmful to health. Nearly a quarter are not vaccinated for fear of unknown side effects and another five percent have doubts about the effectiveness of the vaccine. The rest state that they are not or little concerned about becoming (seriously) ill from a corona infection. Religion and known allergies are only a very small part of the group that does not get vaccinated.
