A large number of blue orbs have washed up on beaches in north-east England, leaving local residents baffled.
Tees Valley Wildlife Conservation Group, which works in the area, posted a photo of the orb they found on their official Facebook page on November 16th. “We’re getting reports that these blue sponge balls are washing up in large numbers on beaches again,” it said.
The photo shows what appears to be hundreds of marble-sized balls. The blue color varies from light to dark, and the surface appears to be covered with soft hair.
