The Velux Group has decided to start the process of reducing employment in the Gniezno plants. Negotiations are underway with trade unions to find the best possible solutions for the affected workers.
The Velux company produces windows, roof windows, technical solutions and window accessories. In Gniezno, windows and accessories are produced in two factories. In addition, production takes place in Namysłów and the company’s headquarters are located in Warsaw.
Starting from the summer months of 2022, the Velux Group observes a slowdown in sales in the main European markets, which is the result of the current, difficult and uncertain macroeconomic situation. As a result, finished product warehouses were full and production had to be limited. Consequently, the VELUX Group has decided to do so start of the process of reducing employment in the Gniezno plants.
Negotiations have begun with trade unions to find the best possible solutions for the affected workers. Details will be provided at the end of the interviews.
Over the last few months, in the light of growing economic uncertainty, Velux has taken steps to adjust its production capacity to the current situation. At the Velux plant in Gniezno, a 4-day working week was introduced from 19 September over a period of eight weeks to reduce the number of production days.
