A large clothing store suddenly went bankrupt in the Czech Republic. He was one of the most popular

Currently, it is not only shop customers who have to dig deeper into their pockets to pay for their favorite goods, but also the traders themselves. They are struggling with how much they can increase the price so that people do not stop going to them. Their costs are also increasing. And not everyone can stand it.

He lasted 25 years

At the same time, the expected recession in the Czech economy has not even begun, and some stores are closing the shop relatively quickly. These are relatively large players. Iceland, for example, has ended up in the food field, and the clothing segment already has several cuts. The biggest so far is the very popular Orsay brand.

This chain, which focuses mainly on women’s fashion, has been operating on the Czech and Slovak markets for 25 years. He survived all sorts of crises, but not this one. The Orsay logo and goods will thus disappear from the more than ninety stores that have grown up here during that time. Even sales were not exactly low, when they reached more than a billion crowns last year.

Definitive end

For a while, it seemed that Orsay would only end local operations in different countries. This has already happened in Austria, where the company ended up in direct insolvency because it got into huge debts.

In the end, however, it turned out that the problems of this brand are much deeper. The company has already announced that it will end up in its home Germany, where it will close all its stores and lay off all employees. The chances that the brand could ever return in this way have essentially dropped to zero.

According to experts, other brands will follow, even relatively large ones. For many, the combination of crises is a real ordeal, with only those who are able to adapt to survive.
