The landslide process has been going on for years, but recently it has been especially intense because of the archaeological excavations and the rainy weather, TV7 reports.
The falling pieces of rock not only cause material damage to the houses at the foot, but also create conditions for accidents on the road that connects Tarnovo with the resort village of Arbanasi.
Every year at this time of year, the residents of the neighborhood below the Trapezica hill raise the issue of rocks falling on their homes. The reason – rainy weather in combination with unconserved archaeological excavations.
Trapezitsa Hill and the road infrastructure below it are state property. The responsible institutions, after another complaint, plan to partially strengthen the risk areas.
However, with the continued heavy rains, Tarnov residents living under the Trapezitsa hill are praying not only that the rocks will not slide, but also that the Yantra river passing under their homes will not overflow.
