The story took an incredible turn when it transpired that Galiano himself tried to appear in the case as a defender of Morgado himself, although it would have been nothing more than a confusion of terms in writings that “he presented on his own.” Anyway, the lawyer who sponsored Galiano, Darío Saldaño, ended up resigning his defense and four months later he became the main witness in the cause for which he is now detained.
Is that a lawyer denounced that Galiano appeared before a detainee who is a client of Saldaño telling him that he no longer sponsored him “because he had gone to Spain”, which was false. The maneuver did not work because the detainee had been in contact with his defender, but Galiano would have had better luck with that man’s ex-wife, who, oblivious to all this, “gave him 50 thousand pesos,” reported different sources consulted by this newspaper. According to the case filed by the prosecutor Martín Almirón, the lawyer “came to present false briefs before the court of Marcela Garmendia requesting the release of that detainee.”
In the last hours Almirón requested the arrest of Galiano, which was endorsed by the Guarantees Court 2 and was specified when the accused appeared on his own at the headquarters of the DDI, this newspaper learned.
Other causes
This is not the first time this attorney has been in trouble with the law. A native of Viedma, in 2017 he was arrested accused of being the intellectual actor of the fire in the building of the superior court of justice in Río Negro. In December of last year, a court in Viedma declared him, by majority, guilty of the crime of “fraud in an ideal contest with the use of a false public document.”
Galiano came to trial accused by prosecutor Guillermo Ortíz of events that occurred between August 2013 and July 2014 when he posed as an official of the province of Río Negro and “had contact and influence with Rio Negro politics” to deceive the representative of mutual insurance companies. and charge for the management to obtain discount codes ”.
