The police began an investigation after receiving a report that a knife had been inserted into the keyhole of the apartment’s front door while the homeowner was returning from an outing.
According to Sosa Police Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, on the 6th, Mr. A, a man in his 30s who lives in an apartment in Bucheon, went out on the 16th of last month and upon returning, saw someone sticking a knife in the front door.
It was a situation that was bound to be even more horrifying as various knife violence incidents were occurring across the country recently.
Mr. A immediately reported the incident to the police, but was told that the suspect could not be found right away because it was a CCTV blind spot.
The police collected a 10cm-long blade that was stuck in the keyhole of Mr. A’s apartment’s front door and requested fingerprint identification from the National Institute of Forensic Science.
However, fingerprint identification takes time, so the suspect has not been identified for three weeks.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, “There are no people around me with whom I have a grudge.”
The police plan to track down the suspect as soon as the National Forensic Service’s fingerprint identification results are released.
