A kitten stuck in a pipe saved by the firemen of Côte-d’Or

A kitten fell on Tuesday May 19 in a rainwater drain. The young feline then finds himself trapped in several pipes under the slab of a building located avenue de Stalingrad in Dijon. It took great resources to save it.

Cameras to locate the stuck kitten

On their Facebook page, the firefighters explain that to locate the kitten precisely, they first decide to insert empty pipes into the evacuations. Subsequently, the video cell is called to introduce miniature cameras in the conduits. In vain.

Two Beaune Rescue-Clearance specialists then intervene in reinforcement with their telescopic camera but the kitten remains untraceable.

It took ingenuity to save the kitten

Determined to reassemble the feline whose meows are heard from the surface, the firefighters try at the end of the morning to insert a pipe with a cloth to gently push the kitten out. Always in vain.

It’s in gently spraying air and gently pouring water in the pipeline to drag the cat that the firefighters managed to recover the animal unharmed.

Since the beginning of the year, the firefighters of Côte-d’Or have carried out 54 animal rescues.
