“I stabbed him because he didn’t like his Christmas present enough.” That’s the shocking admission of 37-year-old Melissa Young, who brutally murdered her neighbor Alan Williamson.
The brutal murder took place on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013 in Edinburgh.
Melissa gives her neighbor Alan a pair of unisex trainers and a copy of the cheesy 2014 calendar from The Sun newspaper.

Melissa is furious after Williamson’s reaction to the gift. The anger is huge. 29 stab wounds were found on the victim’s body, the coroner revealed that he performed an autopsy on the victim’s body.
When police arrived at the scene of the murder, at Melissa’s Claremiston apartment, her hands were covered in blood and Allen was lying dead behind the front door, detectives said.
Immediately arrested
The woman was immediately arrested and tried for the murder.
Melissa’s attorney is trying to defend her, using the doctors’ conclusion that her client is prone to “violent and dangerous outbursts” and is insane.

“It may have just been a crazy and vicious attack. This is a very tragic case,” says Ms. Young’s attorney.
Police Scotland Detective Constable Grant Johnston says:
“Melissa Young committed a vicious assault on her neighbor and the severity of her injuries resulted in her death.”
Guilty!
During the trial, Melissa sometimes admits what she did, and then completely denies being guilty of the crime.
Eventually, she is found guilty. The judge in the case, Lord Boyd, told Melissa Young that he was condemning her for the “brutal and vicious attack”.

“After you killed him, you tried to convince healthcare workers that you were suffering from reduced liability. “While it’s true that you have a severe personality disorder, it’s clear that it played no part in what happened that night,” Judge Boyd said.
“You showed no remorse, indeed you told the court that you were ‘indifferent’ to his death,” the magistrate said during the reading of the sentence, quoted by the BBC.
Bright light and voices in his head
During the trial Young claimed to have seen a bright light and heard voices in his head before turning and stabbing Mr. Williamson 29 times.
Melissa Young is a very controversial person. She has a tattoo of the Virgin Mary on one arm and Lucifer on the other. According to her, the Archangel Michael possessed her body and used her as God’s tool to punish the “unclean demon”.
He adds that if his neighbor had accepted his gifts, he would never have stabbed him.
Melissa was once Richard
Why Williamson refused Melissa’s Christmas present becomes clear during the trial. Six months before the murder, her neighbor locked Alan in her apartment and threatened him with a knife. He has to jump off the first floor balcony to escape.
It also becomes clear that Melissa wasn’t even born that way. She became a woman in 2002. She grew up as Richard McCabe in Perth, her relatives told the Dailyrecord. She began dressing in women’s clothing when she was 14-15 years old and was subject to ridicule and harassment by her peers.
After the end of the five-day trial for the brutal crime, it is clear that Melissa Young, 37, must serve at least 20 years in prison before she can apply for early release.
She was taken to serve her sentence at Stirling Women’s Prison. Since she was there, she has seriously assaulted two prison officers, media reported.
