LONDON – Arsenal survived a setback in their pursuit of the Premier League title, coming back from two goals down and beating Bournemouth 3-2 thanks to a deadly Reiss Nelson goal on Saturday.
Relegation-threatened Bournemouth scored the second fastest goal in Premier League history after nine seconds by Philip Billing, and despite Arsenal’s control, the score became 2-0 by Marcus Sensi before the hour of play.
But Arsenal rose up in a way that might affect the competition for the title.
Thomas Partey narrowed the difference by scoring against Neto after an hour of play, and after eight minutes, substitute defender Ben White added the second goal, and Neto tried to clear it, but after it crossed the goal line.
With the fans excited at the Emirates Stadium, and Bournemouth close to a draw, substitute Nelson unleashed a massive shot in the seventh minute of stoppage time, giving Arsenal a thrilling victory.
Arsenal regained a five-point lead over Manchester City, the defending champion and second-place holder, who also won today, after his score became 63 points from 26 matches.
