It’s really hard to find someone who uses iMessage

However, in the United States it is widely used

Outside of the US, iMessage is pretty much a testimonial app that you can’t talk to practically anyone with. Ultimately, Apple’s closed ecosystem prevents you from talking to people outside of the app. Now, Craig Federighi has assured this in an interview they didn’t bring the app to Android because it would slow down their ability to innovate.

The truth is, outside of the United States, where it is a dominant market, iMessage is practically not used by anyone, and is largely due to the lack of people to share the application with.

This is what happened in an interview with Joanna Stern for the Wall Street Journal, where Federighi discussed some of the most relevant issues of the moment in the technology market. In fact, he has also made some statements on the matter Apple’s implementation of USB-C.

During the interview, his coordinator unearthed internal emails in which Federighi himself claimed not to bring the application to Android in order not to buy more phones of this brand. Something that leaked in 2013 and generated a gigantic controversy.
