A Jeep driver drives on a tramway and collides with a tram

The Hague – Tonight a Jeep driver went on the free tramway on the Oude Haagweg and caused an accident.

The accident happened around ten to ten.

The Jeep driver drove from the direction of Groen van Prinstererlaan onto the free tramway on Oude Haagweg.

He then drove many meters in the opposite direction on the tram route and finally collided with a tram set of line 2, which was traveling towards Kraayenstein. The damage to both the Jeep and the tram is minor.

The driver of the Jeep was checked by ambulance personnel, but did not need to be taken to hospital.

Because ‘hitting blows’, the driver had to take a breathalyzer test from the officers. He was again unable to successfully complete the breathalyzer test. Partly for this reason, he was arrested by the officers on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
