A Japanese flying car took off with a man on board

The Japanese company SkyDrive performed a successful test of a so-called flying car with one person on board. A vehicle resembling a propeller motorcycle rose to a height of about one to two meters and remained in the air for about four minutes. The AP agency informed about it.

The head of the project, Tomohiro Fukuzawa, expressed the hope that this “flying car” would be able to create a product that could be used in the real world by 2023. However, he pointed out that the key task is to ensure his safety.

“I hope that many people will want to use it and that they will feel safe,” said Fukuzawa. He also said that out of more than a hundred “flying car” projects around the world, only a handful had flown with a person on board.

So far, the SkyDrive machine can only fly for five to ten minutes. According to Fukuzawa, if this time can be extended to 30 minutes, it will gain more potential, including exports to countries such as China.

Of the many companies that develop a flying car, it is worth mentioning, for example, the Slovak AeroMobil. Their machine has been in development for many years. Two years ago, the Slovak company also introduced the concept of an electric flying car.
