The owner of a dog who killed a black swan faces a fine of up to 200 non-taxable minimum incomes.

In Ivano-Frankivsk Park named after Taras Shevchenko, a husky dog killed a black swan that was swimming in a local pond. The dog owner faces a fine, and the animal may be confiscated. The police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region reported this.

The incident occurred on the morning of October 24, when police received a report from an eyewitness that a husky had attacked a swan in the park. The police quickly identified the owner of the dog – a 27-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk, who was walking his four-legged dog without proper supervision.

An administrative protocol was drawn up against the owner of the animal for violating the rules for keeping dogs, in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 154 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences. The man faces a fine of 100 to 200 non-taxable minimum incomes with the possibility of confiscation of the dog. The case materials have been submitted to the court.
