A hurricane wind with a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, accompanied by hail and rain, hit Sliven and the surrounding villages at noon. The storm raged for 10 minutes, but managed to cause serious damage. There are uprooted trees, but no injured people, BNR reports.
Several villages have power outages.
“Currently, we are working on uprooted trees so that streets and roads are not blocked, and there are those that have fallen on the national road network. Signals are being processed everywhere, “said Snezhana Kaneva of the Security and Crisis Management Department in Sliven Municipality.
“I spoke with the meteorological observatory in Sliven. This dynamic will be repetitive on this day, so it is expected to once again be a whirlwind, this is a forecast.
Currently, municipal officials together with the fire service are repairing the damage.
