History has been made in Finnish sea areas tonight: for the first time in the history of measurement, hurricane readings have been measured in Finland.
According to the definition of a hurricane, the average wind speed must be at least 33 meters per second. At Kylmäpihlaja in Rauma, the average wind after 21:00 was 33.5 meters per second.
At 9:30 p.m. in southwestern Finland, more than 12,000 households are without electricity. The storm is estimated to be at its strongest next night, so the reading may rise, especially in the archipelago. There are nearly 1,500 households in Satakunta without electricity.
More than 2,600 Elenia customers have electricity in the Kanta-Häme area. There are about 1,300 households in Pirkanmaa without electricity after 9:30 p.m.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute warns of bad and very bad driving weather, especially in the southern and western parts of Finland. Strong gusts of northwest wind can be expected in southwestern Finland during the evening and night.
