A HUNSC nurse vaccinates her child | Radio Club Tenerife

The image has been shared by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands on its Twitter profile as an example of the progress of the vaccination strategy in the Islands.

In the Archipelago, the efforts of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) are now focused on immunizing children and adolescents. In fact, those over 12 years old residing on all the islands can go without an appointment to the large mass vaccination centers to receive the first dose of the covid19 vaccine at certain times and until the end of the stocks reserved for each day.

This, precisely, is what has been experienced these days in the Santiago Martín de Tenerife pavilion where a nurse from the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria vaccinated her own son. According to the tweet of the Ministry, “The vaccination campaign is leaving such beautiful images and gestures.”

Right now 34% of the Canarian population between 12 and 19 years old has received at least one dose, which translates into just over 61,000 young people.
