Since the end of January 2022, pediatrics has been operating with two doctors, following the layoff of a third practitioner for six months. Forcing the management to temporarily close six of the twenty-four beds in the service.
An idea born out of a group conversation
Midwives, childcare assistants, nurses and neonatology caregivers have therefore decided to act at their level. “We created a group conversation to share all our ideas,” says Clémence Bidet, midwife. That of a humorous video came out of the lot quickly, to try to recruit pediatricians and alert the population.

Available since Tuesday February 23 on social networks, the two-minute video, entitled Center Hospitalier Montluçon Pédiatrie, depicts children and their parents going to pediatrics. “These are the children of colleagues who were kind enough to participate”, specifies Clémence Bidet.
They are welcomed by staff who do their best, despite the long wait due to lack of staff. The video ends with a festive demonstration, hosted by the Banda Follet, and an insert with contact details for sending CVs and cover letters.
Stand out and attract the attention of doctors
It is Dr. Serge Gallet, pediatrician, who provides the voiceover. “It’s about recruiting people with a slight bias,” says the doctor. Stand out and grab attention. For the time being, the service is provided thanks to the reinforcement of the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital and replacements, he said.
