Russian President Vladimir Putin has suffered from thyroid cancer, the Italian news agency ANSA and Sky News 24 reported, citing Russian independent media. But the information was refuted by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Three specialist doctors accompanied Putin on his long-term travels between 2016 and 2020, according to the Russian newspaper Proekt, which specializes in investigative journalism.
These are the medics Alexei Shcheglov, Yaroslav Potasenko and Evgeniy Selivanov. Among them is Selivanov, an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid cancer, and he has accompanied Putin 35 times during his travels to Sochi. Selivanov works at the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow.
However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the allegation of Putin’s illness was untrue, Pravda.ru reported.
“Project” was declared a foreign agent some time ago.
The publication supports conspiracy theories that the Russian president declared war on Ukraine at a time when he had health problems. One version is that Putin was treated with steroids, which led to swelling of his face and neck.
According to the “Project” portal, he has undergone surgery or a very serious back procedure at least twice. These cases coincided with his “disappearance” from the public space, which the media drew attention to in 2016 and 2019.
