“When the rescuers entered the house, what they saw was more like a zoo”the organization said in a post. “There were animals of several different species everywhere. They were in deplorable conditions and all needed urgent veterinary care. »
L’Animal Charity of Ohio added that fourteen of the animals had died. Within two hours, rescuers found eight dogs, four rabbits, three guinea pigs, two hedgehogs, two turkeys, two foxes, two ferrets and two raccoons suspected of having rabies. “There wasn’t a single animal that wasn’t in the filth or feces”said Jane MacMurchy, director of operations and humanitarian officer of the Animal Charity of Ohio.
The body said charges are pending against the couple responsible, although this has not been confirmed by local police.
