A hot-tempered pit bull killed its owner

An 85-year-old woman died after being attacked by her dog in the Botevgrad village of Litakovo, the Ministry of Interior in Sofia announced. The incident happened around 5 pm yesterday in the yard of the owner. The police officers sent immediately to the scene only established the lifeless body of Yordanka Belova. The animal was captured in the yard of the property by municipal officials. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in the case for a crime under Art. 325B of the Penal Code.

A neighbor of the pensioner heard her shout “No, no!” Several times in horror, after which everything calmed down. The man, who is a police officer, assumed that something dangerous was happening and immediately called the mayor of the village, Pesho Petkov. He came and started calling Yordanka, calling her on the phone, but no one answered. As her gate was locked, he saw the woman’s slippers scattered across the yard, and saw a pit bull, black in color, moving nervously. However, the owner of the house did not answer and that is why the mayor immediately called the police.

Arriving officers could not enter the yard of the house, as Jordanka’s dog began to attack them. The police made a noose and made a lot of effort to tie him up. One of the uniformed men entered and returned with the words “Horror! He bit her throat like a wolf, he has wounds on her face” – Pesho Mladenov told botevgrad.com. An ambulance was sent to the scene immediately. Unfortunately, the medics only determined the death.

Neighbors commented that the animal was most likely enraged in the hellish heat.

In front of bTV neighbors said she regularly let the dog out in the yard, which meant she trusted him. “Maybe he didn’t drink water all day,” commented Anelia Vitkova of the Security and Public Order Control.

The pit bull has been drugged by municipal security officers and is now in the custody of the police. Investigators and the court will decide what his fate will be. The dog was not registered.

It became clear that no domestic dog in the village has a registration.

Yordanka Belova lived alone. She has been in the village for almost 30 years, after she and her husband retired to Sofia and returned to the village. Her son came on Saturdays and Sundays. There was always a guard dog in her house.
