The woman came to the hospital with high blood pressure, which caused a complete rupture and dilation of the descending aorta in the chest to the level of the renal and intestinal arteries, causing her severe chest pain and the inability to to sleep normally, warning of an explosion in the aorta in the chest, as well as stopping the circulation of blood to some vital organs such as the brain, spinal cord, kidneys, liver, and intestines, which may cause death, failure in the actions of those mentioned. limbs, or the patient is able to move.

Immediately, the hospital’s vascular surgery team met to examine the case and determine the necessary medical procedures, and it was decided to perform surgery using the TEVAR method, which is a good solution for the cases that, which means that it is responsible for the use of interventional catheters through small surgical incisions that help relieve chest pain and other symptoms.


The companies supplying these stents were contacted to find out in detail the dimensions of the stents required for the case and their preparation. The woman was then operated on by installation of covered stents in the chest aorta using an interventional catheter, while connecting the left carotid artery with surgery. the left subclavian artery using an artificial artery.

The patient was followed up postoperatively and examined after the severe pain she was experiencing had subsided, her general condition had stabilized, and her vital functions had improved.

Cost of operation

It should be noted that the cost of this surgery is more than 800 thousand pounds, and it was done under the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance, and the patient did not pay more than 450 pounds.
