A horrific crime shocking in Egypt

The Public Prosecution Office in Fayoum Governorate, south of Cairo, decided to imprison a young man for committing a horrific crime, which was to kill his neighbor with an ax in broad daylight in front of his wife and children.

An official in the Egyptian Ministry of Health confirmed to Sky News Arabia that the medical examination showed that the victim’s head had been completely smashed.

According to Egyptian police investigations, the story began with a lawyer from Al-Ilam village in Fayoum preventing his young neighbor from assaulting the latter’s mother, who decided to take revenge on the lawyer later.

The accused took advantage of the lawyer sitting in front of his house with his wife and children, so he ignored him from behind, and beat him with an ax amid everyone’s screams and amazement, and some passers-by ran and grabbed him, but the victim had passed away.

The police rushed to the scene of the crime, where they received the accused from the family, who confessed during interrogation to having committed the crime, justifying it by the fact that the victim attacked him and prevented him from assaulting his mother.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Fayoum, Dr. Hatem Gamal El-Din, told Sky News Arabia that the Fayoum Ambulance Facility transferred the victim’s body to the morgue of the Health Insurance Hospital in the governorate at the disposal of the Public Prosecution.

He explained that the apparent examination of the victim’s body showed that his head was completely smashed as a result of strong blows with a sharp object, with a cut in the neck.

Forensic medicine is scheduled to perform an autopsy, according to the instructions of the Public Prosecution, according to Jamal Al-Din.

The crime sparked a great state of shock and anger on social media after circulating a video documented by a surveillance camera showing the horrific moment the crime was committed.

Some linked the spread of such crimes to the tradition of TV dramas.
